Weinerweb explodes with WeinerFacts!

News Real Blog:

I walk into Tiffany’s—flush with blogging income–and purchase their very reasonable 18k Gold Paloma’s Marrakesh Bangle (inspired by the intriguing patterns of Morocco) for $4,950. Later I discover to my horror that the melt value of the gold is significantly less than $4,950. Now that I think about it, there were no signs telling me this in the store, although the salesperson did prattle on quite a while about “craftsmanship."

Do I have legal recourse?

...I know the point is self-evident. The invested labor, aesthetic quality and artistry of said bangle adds value beyond that of the raw materials required to produce it. When combined with the relative supply of said bangle, factored against demand for the item, we arrive at a price. This is not the exclusive province of scheming gold-peddlers and their gullible clients.  Any ten-year-old who collects baseball cards or has a stamp collection understands this with perfect clarity.

Washington Examiner:

Beck created WeinerFacts.com a part of the "world wide weiner net" in retaliation. The site, operated by staff, according to Mediaite, mixes "facts" with pictures of Weiner's face superimposed on hot dogs.

Mediaite:

Beck finally settled down and got semi-serious, noting that Goldline is a company he trusts and that Weiner does not exactly have a clean economic slate, either: “Here’s a guy, who one of his main people used to work for Media Matters– which is great– but also, here’s a guy who’s trying to tell an A+ Better Business Bureau-rated company how to do business when he has been nailed twice for financial improprieties.”

O’Reilly took on a paternal concern over Beck when he read that Weiner had been to the White House to chat with the President, worrying that there was an concentrated effort against him. “That’s not a joke, Beck,” he scolded, “Then I have to get in and defend you!”

Right Pundits:

Whether you agree or disagree, like or dislike Glenn Beck, you have to ask yourself does he rate the attention of a U.S. Congressman? New York Democrat, Anthony Weiner is among the latest now launching an organized attack against the sneaker-wearing Fox News host. As if the White House, Van Jones, Jim Wallis, NBC-MSNBC-CNBC, Apple Computer and two national unions, SEIU and the AFL-CIO weren’t enough! This time, it’s over one of Glenn’s sponsors, Goldline. So comical is this latest attack that Beck launched a new website, www.weinerfacts.com to poke fun at this moron.

Weiner launches new trends in English language

The Weiner report. Setting the trends for Weiners across America. Yet another example of Weiner-based-leadership is his fearlessness when it comes to using words in ways never before seen. For example, from page 5 of the Weiner report:

"...the long term capital-gains rate of 15% for people making more thank $34k a year. If you make less than $34k the long term capital-gains rate is zero."

"...for people earning more thank $34k a year." Why are we thanking "$34k a year"? What did "34k a year" do to warrant this appreciation? We don't yet know what is meant by Weiner and his use of the word "thank" in this sentence. CERTAINLY, it couldn't be that the Weiner report was a hastily thrown together piece of garbage that was assembled so sloppily that basic mistakes of grammar weren't noticed. That COULDN'T be it.* We await the Weiner explanation of this new ground broken in the English language by Weiner.

** By the way, Weiner's point here is that your taxes are just too darned high to own gold. Weiner just can't stand high taxes! He swears! But, before taking such a principled stand against higher taxes, Weiner should note that the specific lower rate that he seems to praise in the Weiner report--would go away if the President was able to push through his proposed capital gains tax hike. Surely, Weiner will remain consistent and vote against President Obama's proposal if he has the opportunity.

*It is it.

**To honor Weiner, we here at WeinerFacts.com have decided to sprinkle in Weineresque mistakes in grammar and spelling liberally throughout the website. This is because this website is a hastily thrown together piece of garbage. If you don't like it, thank 34k a year.

Audio: Weiner Report vs Reality!

***DON'T MISS THE AUDIO AT BOTTOM OF POST FROM ACTUAL GLENN BECK GOLDLINE COMMERCIALS!***

Looking into the Weiner report about Glenn Beck and Goldline, Weiner (or more likely his former Media Matters employee, the sloppiness is a dead giveaway) goes to great length to try to paint a picture of Glenn as a frantic pitchman for gold.

Some Weiner quotes:

--He will often promote the purchase of gold as the only safe investment alternative for consumers who want to safeguard their livelihoods.

--The message that these commentators push is that government is out of control and unsafe, inflation will continue to devalue the dollar and that as an investor you should protect yourself by stock piling gold coins.

--...there is always someone ready to take advantage of the situation and profit from people’s fears.

--Commentators like Glenn Beck who are shilling for Goldline are either the worst financial advisors around or knowingly lying to their loyal viewers.

--Goldline’s high pressure sales tactics and fear mongering about big government as well as their ability to hire sales staff and spokespeople who misrepresent their roles are case studies in why entities like the SEC and FTC are necessary.

So is Glenn really using "high pressure sales tactics" by telling everyone to spend all of their money "stockpiling gold coins"?

WeinerWeb Embraces Weiner Facts!

The WeinerWeb is on fire with WeinerFacts!

Red State

Unholy alliance? Since when does Congress investigate holy alliances? Are Goldline and Glenn Beck “unholy” according to the Bible? The Koran? The Book of Mormon? How could any Congressman use “unholy alliance” in a press release? This isn’t just war–it’s a holy war!

YidWithLid

Weiner commented, “Goldline rips off consumers, uses misleading and possibly illegal sales tactics, and deliberately manipulates public fears of an impending government takeover – this is a trifecta of terrible business practices. It’s unacceptable that this company is preying on public fears to sell its products.”
Gee, if Goldline was so lousy why does it have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau?

AmericanConservativeDaily.com

You mean to tell me that companies actually buy advertising on radio and television to sell their products? Stop the freaking presses!  When the Hell did this start! I mean how dare they!  And in America of all places! And how dare they get people to promote their products!
Boy this sure is scandalous …
